List of governors of Kamerun

Cameroon was from 1884 until the First World War, a German colony. The management of the administration was a governor and was, in contrast to the colonies German East Africa and German South-West Africa, always in the hands of civil officials. The first director of the Central Administration site was the interim Imperial Commissioner Max Buchner from July 14 1884 to 17 May 1885.

The series of governors was as follows:

  • Julius Freiherr von Soden (May 26, 1885 to February 14, 1891 )
  • Eugen von Zimmerer (April 15, 1891 to August 13, 1895 )
  • Jesko of Puttkamer ( August 13, 1895 to 9 May 1907)
  • Theodor Seitz (May 9, 1907 to August 27, 1910 )
  • Otto Gleim (August 28, 1910 to January 29, 1912 )
  • Karl Ebermaier (29 January 1912 to 1916 /19)

Karl Ebermaier occurred during the First World War in February 1916, most of the protection force to neutral Spanish territory (Rio Muni ) over and led in Madrid until 1919 an administrative intern.
