List of Governors of Nagaland

The following table lists the Governors of Nagaland with respective term of office. The state of Nagaland was formed on December 1, 1963 from a part of the state of Assam, after it had been in the region since India's independence aspirations for autonomy. By 1981, the Governor of Assam was also responsible for Nagaland. Then there was until 1989 a common Governor for the states of Nagaland, Manipur and Tripura.
