List of kings of Jordan
The list of the rulers of Jordan contains the sovereign monarch of the Kingdom of Jordan.
The territory belonged after the end of the Ottoman Empire in 1918, the Kingdom of Syria until 1920 was the British Mandate of Palestine attached. Next standing under British protection in 1921, the country was separated from Palestine and adapted to Transjordan. After the country's independence in 1946, Emir Abdallah ibn Hussein took the title of king. 1949 the Kingdom was given " Jordan Hashemite Kingdom" the official name until today.
The royal family is provided by the dynasty of the Hashemites, descendants of a great-grandfather of the Prophet Muhammad.
