List of largest buildings in the world

This page lists the largest buildings in the world after land. The definition of the area is, however, reasonably well defined only for residential, hotel, office and commercial buildings. For industrial buildings, the general definitions are contradictory, since, for example traffic areas should not be attributed to the land, but probably all surfaces that correspond to the purpose of use of the building. This is usually difficult to separate in industrial buildings, they also often consist of large halls, whose land is used variably. Since the accessible information on the listed buildings anyway rather specify the net floor area as usable space, this will be considered here as an expanded definition of usable space.
