List of lieutenant governors of Wisconsin
The Office of the Lieutenant Governor (Lieutenant Governor ) of Wisconsin was created in the course of the transformation of the territory into a state of the United States and initially had a term of two years. Due to the constitutional amendment of 1979, the Lieutenant Governor, if he be succeeded in the vacant office of the governor, a full-fledged governor and laid down the office of Lieutenant Governor. Before 1979, the lieutenant governor took over even the official duties of the governor, he was only an acting governor. Furthermore, in 1979, extended the term of office of the Vice Governor of two to four years.
