Politically, the island in 53 municipalities with administrative headquarters ( Mayor's Office ) is divided. They are ( traditionally called comarques ) in the geographical regions: Palma, Serra de Tramuntana, Llevant, Pla de Mallorca, Raiguer, Migjorn.
