List of museums and cultural institutions in New York City

A section of 5th Avenue on the Upper East Side at the level of Central Park is also known as Museum Mile, because here many famous museums are located. Every year on the second Tuesday in June, a museum is organized Mile Festival. The 5th Avenue will be closed to car traffic.
