Honduras has next to Costa Rica for the most protected areas in Central America. National parks and biosphere reserves and marine protected areas provide an excellent condition for eco-tourism and diving.

Not all parks have the necessary infrastructure to offer eco-tourism, the Government of Honduras and the Honduran Tourism Institute here in charge want it to expand in the coming years.
