This list of number-one hits in Germany in 2005. It was the year of 15 number-one singles and 31 number-one albums.
The single and album charts are compiled weekly by Media Control. They reflect not only online download purchases and sales of physical media (CDs).
Since October 2005, the charts are collected via the so-called chart week, ie from Friday to Thursday. This corresponds to the aspirations of trade, new releases on Friday, so to be published at the beginning of high-volume weekend. From the issue dated 4 November 2005, the charts were officially published after the evaluation period on the second Friday. Previously, the charts were each dated on Monday.
