Competitions

Already at the first Olympic Winter Games in 1924, curling was part of the official competition program. Then the sport for many years disappeared from the Olympic program. Only since the 1998 Games in Nagano Curling has been reintroduced into the Olympic program. In contrast to the first competition where there was only one tournament for men and since 1998 a women's tournament is held.

In the period 1924-1998 a total of three demonstration competitions were held. In 1932 Curling players came for the first time since the premiere of 1924 at Olympia, but participated only North American teams. Only at the Games in 1988 found again competitions to demonstrate instead, this time for both men and women. Before curling was officially included in the program, there was in 1992 a final demonstration competition.

For men found so far and six for women five official curling competitions with medals instead. A total of eleven gold medals were awarded in curling teams at the Winter Olympics so far.

The names of the players are listed according to their position. The following sequence is followed except in 1924: Fourth (usually also skip), Third, Second, and most recently the lead substitute.
