List of premiers of Newfoundland and Labrador

This list outlines the Prime Minister (English premier ) in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Newfoundland and Labrador has a unicameral parliament with one based on the Westminster parliamentary system government. Here, the prime minister is also the chairman of the party, the ( House of Assembly ) holds in the House the most seats. The Prime Minister acts as head of government, while the Head of State, the Canadian monarch, by a Vice Governor ( lieutenant governor ) is represented. Moreover, the Prime Minister from among the elected members, together referred to as the Executive Government, and is this before.

Before joining the Canadian Confederation in 1949, Newfoundland and Labrador was initially a British crown colony until 1907, then an independent Dominion (see Newfoundland ( Dominion ) ). Governmental power was exercised in 1934 after the collapse of the economy of an unelected government commission.
