List of ski areas and resorts in Japan
In Japan, there are 2007 643 ski areas, they focus on Hokkaido, northern Honshu and the snowy west coast of Honshu.
It has twice Olympic Winter Games were held in Japan. Venues for the alpine skiing competitions were in 1972 in the ski resort Sapporo Teine Olympia in Sapporo and 1998 in Hakuba Happo -One ( Nagano Prefecture).
Also the Interski was held twice in Japanese ski resorts: 1979 in Zaō Nozawa Onsen 1995
