List of the bishops of Schleswig

The list of bishops of Schleswig contains the chronological sequence of the bishops of Schleswig since the founding of the diocese of Schleswig in the years 947/948. The few remaining, immigrant or converted Catholics in the Duchy of Schleswig took from 1667, the Vicariate Apostolic of the Nordic missions, which included the whole of Scandinavia and large parts of northern Germany. 1709 the Vicariate has been reduced by most of his südelbischen areas and traded from now on as the Apostolic Vicariate of the North. 1868 Schleswig -Holstein was separated from the Vicariate and formed the Prefecture Apostolic of Schleswig -Holstein. General Superintendent of Schleswig royal share

The General Superintendent of the Duchy of Schleswig royal share - often at the same time for the Duchy Holstein royal share responsibility - sat first in Flensburg, from 1693 but in Rendsburg. For the ducal portion of the duchies functioned own General Superintendent.
