List of whisky distilleries in Scotland

Scotch Whisky is currently burned in 99 Scottish distilleries (as of December 2009). There are also hundreds of others that are currently closed or no longer exist. It assigns the distilleries and thus the whiskey produced there different regions. In this case, the whiskeys from a region is sometimes also rumored to have a common flavor characteristics.
