Lists of aquarium life

With ornamental fish (English: ornamental fish ) refers to any species of fish that are kept in aquariums because of their colorful looks and their pleasing shape. This includes many tropical freshwater, brackish and saltwater fish that can be well maintained in aquaria.

The majority also occurs in nature. Goldfish and koi, however, are ornamental fish that have been bred specifically for the aquarium maintenance and a pleasing exterior back. Together with the numerous color and shape variations of viviparous tooth carp, barbel, barb, characins, labyrinth fish and cichlids you can refer to them as pet fish because they have the typical Domestikationsmerkmale.
