Liszki, Lesser Poland Voivodeship

Liszki is a village located in powiat Krakowski in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Poland. It is also the seat of the municipality of the same country.

Geography

Liszki is located about 13 km west of Krakow, along the river Sanka, a tributary of the Vistula. It belongs geographically to the Cracow Highlands.

History

Show signs of settlement, that the area was already inhabited in the early days.

In 1257 the church of St. Nicholas is mentioned. According to records of the churches were in 1325 about 2,000 people to the church community. 1363 remained Casimir the Great on in Liszki.

From 1975 to 1998 Liszki belonged to the Cracow Province.
