Literary society

A Literary Society is an association for the promotion of literature and culture.

For this example, expect teams to research and transmission of the works of a particular author or the promotion of museums that are dedicated to this, as the German Shakespeare Society, the Free German high pin ( for Goethe and the Frankfurt Goethe House ), the German Schiller Society and the German Kafka Society.

Other companies devote themselves to the study of a particular literary form, such as the German Society for the Study of the Western or the promotion of literature and culture in a specific area, such as the Latvian Literärische society Literary Society Thüringen eV or the Literary Society Cologne.

Finally, there are also literary societies that are fairly general to the promotion of literature and culture devote such as the German Academy for Language and Poetry, which awards the Georg Büchner Prize, and the brothers Grimm Society.

Such culture -promoting associations are clearly separate from associations of writers and literary salons and literary groups.

A special position is occupied by the Else- Lasker-Schüler - society that sees itself as a political and literary association and documented over the Wuppertal poet addition, the fate of other persecuted and exiled exiled artists and poets.
