Lithuania at the Olympics

The Lithuanian National Olympic Committee ( lit. Lietuvos tautinis olimpinis komitetas, verk. LTOK ) was founded in 1924 and resumed in 1991 after the independence from the International Olympic Committee.

Of medals won

So far, 21 athletes win Olympic medals for Lithuania (6 x Gold, Silver 5 ×, 10 × bronze). Domain of Lithuanians is next to the basketball Discus, in the Virgilijus Alekna (2 × 1 × Gold and Bronze) and Romas Ubartas (1 × 1 × Gold for Lithuania and silver for the USSR) shone.

Successful athletes from Lithuania at the Olympics are next Virgilijus Alekna and Romas Ubartas the basketball Rimas Kurtinaitis, Šarūnas Marciulionis and Arvydas Sabonis, who won each one gold and two bronze medals, the basketball player, Angèle Rupšienė and handball Aldona Česaitytė - Nenėnienė with 2 gold medals, the handball Valdemaras Novickis with 1 gold and 1 silver and track cyclists Gintautas UMARAS with two gold medals.
