Lito Sheppard Decorian ( born April 8, 1981 in Jacksonville, Florida) is an American professional American football player at the position of the cornerbacks. He played for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League ( NFL), is currently without a club but.

College

Lito Sheppard played college football at the University of Florida. During his time there he was twice an All-American, started 22 games in three seasons, scoring eight interceptions and 87 tackles. He wore returned 27 kickoffs for 472 yards ( 22.5 yards per return).

NFL

Philadelphia Eagles

In the 2002 NFL Draft Sheppard was selected in the first round as 26 players from the Philadelphia Eagles. Lito Sheppard had five interceptions in 2004, including two that he carried back to touchdowns. He was elected Defensive Player of the Month for November after he carried back two interceptions for touchdowns. Sheppard was first elected to the Pro Bowl in 2004.

2005 was the first of three seasons with injuries ranging Sheppard. He missed six games and finished the season with three interceptions.

On October 8, 2006 Sheppard became the first player in NFL history the two interceptions carried back for more than 100 yards. Both interceptions he scored against the division rival Dallas Cowboys.

During the Wild Card Games of the Eagles against the New York Giants on January 7, Lito Sheppard is injured on the shoulder. He missed the next play-off game against the New Orleans Saints, which lost the Eagles with 27-24.

In the 2007 season, Sheppard injured against the Green Bay Packers and again had a season with many injuries. He finished the season with only two interceptions.

In the offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles were able to sign the former New England Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel. This fueled speculation that Sheppard is now available through a trade.

During the 2008 season, Sheppard was given less often due to the good results of the two starting cornerbacks Asante Samuel and Sheldon Brown.

New York Jets

Sheppard was traded on February 27, 2009 on the New York Jets. The Eagles earned them fifth- round pick of the New York Jets of the NFL Draft in 2009 and a conditional pick in the draft in 2010. He was surprisingly sacked after just one year on March 4, 2010.

Minnesota Vikings

End of 2010, Sheppard signed for one year with the Minnesota Vikings. The contract amounts to approximately two million U.S. dollars.
