Little Big Town

Little Big Town is an American country band from Homewood, Alabama.

Band History

The two college girlfriends Kimberly Roads and Karen Fairchild of Georgia in the 1990s laid the foundation for the band, which was completed in 1998 with the two coming from Arkansas singers Jimi Westbrook and Phil Sweet. A first recording contract with Mercury was disbanded due to musical differences again, first with the label Monument, which had previously been already successfully with the Dixie Chicks, the career of Little Big Town began. The debut album with the band name as the title and the first singles Do not Waste My Time and Everything Changes brought moderate success. The breakthrough came in 2005 with the album The Road to Here, which although the Top 10 on the country charts narrowly missed, but sold over a million copies and was certified platinum, as well as the single release Boondocks. Both also brought them each a nomination for a Grammy four times they were nominated for the CMA Awards for an award.

With the album A Place to Land they could two years later, although the success did not repeat, but they had now established itself as a solid country size.
