Little Brother Montgomery

Eurreal Wilford "Little Brother" Montgomery ( born April 18, 1906 in Kentwood, Louisiana, † September 6, 1985 in Chicago, Illinois ) was an American blues and jazz pianist and singer.

In the early 1920s he started playing solo in lumberjack and Terpentinarbeiter camps in Louisiana and Mississippi, later he toured with the orchestras of Clarence Desdunes and Buddy Petit. According to Chicago where he made ​​his first recordings, he came in 1928. From 1931 to 1938, he then led his own band in Jackson in 1941 but moved back to Chicago, where he spent the rest of his life. From there, he undertook extensive tours of the U.S. and Europe, including at the American Folk Blues Festival 1966.
