About the Comic

Little Nemo is counted among the classics of the early comics. Main feature of the series are the rampant display of surreal dream scenarios, the drama itself increases from image to image, to the inevitable climax of waking up in the last picture. Another feature is the partially very elaborate representation of architecture, which moves between classicist palaces and art nouveau elements. Little Nemo is therefore often referred to as Art Nouveau comic.

At its time of comic was not especially popular because the audience rather the representatives of slapstick comedy among the comics, such as The Katzenjammer Kids or Buster Brown, liked, while the surreal and fantastical world of Little Nemo comics readers remained rather strange. Only in retrospect won the Comic important.
