Little Switzerland (landscape)

Worldwide, there are the name of Switzerland in the name of Landscapes ( Choronymika, room name ) or other landscape objects.

Basics

The name Switzerland there are at least 191 times, of which 67 times in Germany. This has Switzerland Tourism, the national marketing and sales organization in Switzerland, determined and shown on a blackboard next to the Swiss Federal Palace. The Neue Zürcher Zeitung has even counted 233 uses.

Often an engaging, topographically dynamic landscape with " Switzerland " was exaggerated in the Romantic period. Different tourism regions selected - regardless of its topography - the addition of " Switzerland " for marketing reasons, but the name is also commonly used for scenic beauty, prosperity and a well-organized polity. Also Swiss emigrants refer in this way to their home. The acting in the Dresden painter Adrian Zingg, for example, was reminded of the mountains of the Jura in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.

The inflation of the term describes already Theodor Fontane, in his wanderings through the Mark Brandenburg, he scoffed at the fashion of his time to prove hilly lakes landscapes with the synonym of the mountains:

" The Swiss are now getting smaller, and so there is not just one more märkische but already a Ruppin Switzerland. "

Ironically - political thought Friedrich Dürrenmatt: "The world will either perish or verschweizern. "

On September 22, 1992, a rock garden of the Bernese artist and blues musician George Steinmann was inaugurated called the balance of things in addition to the Federal Palace in Bern. It contains 44 jewels that come from regions from all five continents, carrying the term " Switzerland " in their name.
