Little Tony (singer)

Little Tony (actually Antonio Ciacci; born February 9, 1941 in Tivoli, † May 27, 2013 in Rome ) was a san- marinesischer rock-' n'- roll singer and actor.

Life

Ciacci, son of a singer and accordion player and nephew of a guitarist, has appeared as a teenager with his brothers in cafes and bars, where he was discovered by British impresario Jack Good and brought to the island, where he worked as " Little Tony and His Brothers" - his pseudonym, he refused to be a role model to Little Richard - were marketed.

Tony has been a successful rock 'n' roll singer in Italy in the late 1950s and early 1960s; many of his recordings were cover versions of popular hits. Several of his songs have been used as film songs. 1961 Little Tony took the Sanremo Festival of the second rank; in later years he was a regular participant in the singing competition. He also managed his career until well into the new millennium, with regular releases until the end of the 1970s to continue.

The musical success led not uncommon to film contracts, as it was then; so took Little Tony from 1960 some supporting roles in other films he starred as a guest. With decreasing popularity waned, the interest of the producers; after 1970 Little Tony was seen only in 1983 acquired work.

2006 suffered a heart attack during a Little Tony tour of Canada, but recovered it again. In 2008 he presided over the Sammarinese jury at the preselection for the Euro Vision Song Contest.

On May 27, 2013 Little Tony died in Rome on cancer.
