Littoral cell angioma

The Littoralzellangiom (English littoral cell tumor ) is a benign tumor of the sinus wall cells in the red pulp of the spleen. The first description was in 1991 by S. Falk et al., After he examined 200 Milztumore. The tumor shows specific morphological and immunohistochemical characteristics ( CD68, CD31 ). The name is derived from wall cells in the splenic sinuses of the red pulp, which are often referred to as " bank cells ". The term bank cells was by Falk et al. with " littoral cells" translated. There is evidence for an association of Littoralzellangioms with other malignant tumors.
