Liu Zhenyun

Liu Zhenyun (Chinese刘震云; * 1958 in Henan Province ) is a Chinese writer.

Life

1973 Liu Zhenyun joined the Army and spent five years in the Gobi desert. From 1978 to 1982 he studied at the University in Beijing Chinese language and literature. After that, he became a journalist for a daily newspaper for farmers. In 1987, then published his first story, The shop in the tower, in the journal literature of the People ( Renmin Wenxue ), and was taken up by the readership with interest. His novel cycle the flour and the flower of my country, appeared in 1998.

His bestselling novel The mobile phone found a ready market in the first month with 220,000 copies and was later filmed.
