Live Your Life debuted in the week ending 10 October 2008 at number 80 on the Billboard Hot 100 the following week the song jumped from number 80 to number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, so that both artists featured on the record for the biggest jump No. 1 in the American chart history. The following week, Britney Spears broke the record when her Womanizer from 96 to # 1 jumped. Live Your Life was # 1 on the direct successor of Whatever You Like, TI was therefore the ninth artist ever, the misplaced his own title at No. 1. Overall, the song was six weeks at # 1 in the United States.
In Canada, the song reached # 4 In Ireland, the song debuted at number three and became TI's most successful single and Rihanna's tenth Top Ten hit.
