Livernon

Livernon is a commune with 649 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Lot in the Midi-Pyrénées region. It belongs administratively to the district Figeac and Canton Livernon whose capital it is.

Geography

The municipality is situated approximately 15 kilometers west of Figeac, in the Regional Natural Park of Causses du Quercy. Neighboring communities of Livernon are:

  • Sonac in the north,
  • Assier in the Northeast,
  • Reyrevignes in the east,
  • Corn in the southeast,
  • Grèzes in the south,
  • Espédaillac in the west and
  • Durban in the northwest.

Livernon located on the eastern foothills of the limestone plateau Causse de Gramat with its distinctive karst phenomena. Within the area itself, there is little surface water, as they all run underground and occur only a few kilometers further east to the surface. Through the southern neighboring communities of the River Cele runs.

Transport links

The town is served by the department D802 and D653 roads that intersect in the municipality. The aerodrome Aerodrome Figeac - Livernon is regardless of his name in the neighboring municipality of Durban.
