Living room

The living room is the room of an apartment or residential house in which most residents staying in many cases. Today, one recognizes the fact that the TV is available in most homes in the living room. Formerly a generous fireplace or a fire pit was the clear indication that one was in the living room.

For the typical features of a German living room include the piece suite with low table, cabinet furniture to classic wall unit for your TV and other consumer electronics and (alcoholic ) drinks, next to books or CD shelves. Often, the living room is used as a dining room because it is usually more spacious than the kitchen. Festivals and celebrations is often eaten for reasons of space in the living room.

In England, the dual function of German living room is usually divided into two rooms. Which is used for representation " parlor" (Salon ), which is used by the residents only at ceremonies or with guests, while the " living room" is used daily; " Family room " refers to the largest room of the house in conjunction with an open kitchen.
