Liviu Rebreanu

Liviu Rebreanu ( born November 27, 1885 in Târlişua, Northern Transylvania (now county Bistrita-Nasaud ); † September 1, 1944 in Valea Mare in Piteşti ) was a Romanian writer, playwright and journalist.

He spent his childhood in Maieru. In Bistrita he attended the German School. He was, among others, also director of the National Theatre Bucharest in the 1940s.
