Lizard Union (medieval)

The lizards Confederation was a union of chivalry in Kulmerland the time of the German Teutonic Order. Purpose of the company founded in 1397 Rehden Alliance were protection and mutual assistance for the rule of the Teutonic Knights and over the big cities.

Founded the Federation of Nicholas and John of Renys and her nephew Frederick and Nicholas of Kynthenow. Named giving symbol was the lizard that has been handed down in sealing obtained by individual members of the Federation.

In 1410 the federal government lizards refused the Teutonic Knights at the Battle of Tannenberg allegiance; this was crucial for the defeat of the religious army.

Later, the federal government was temporarily banned by the Grand Master Heinrich von Plauen.

1440 occurred Knight of the Prussian Confederation Federal lizards in and supported this in conflict with the Teutonic Order.
