Ljubljana-Marathon
The Ljubljana Marathon (Slovenian Ljubljanski Maraton ) is a marathon, which takes place in Ljubljana since 1996 annually at the end of October. Organizer is the city of Ljubljana. For now two-day program also includes a half marathon and a 10 - km run, hand bike, and various student competitions and children. At this year's 18th competitions participated in stotal nearly 20,000 participants in part. Alone in the marathon and half marathon almost 15,000 runners took part.
Route
The start of the marathon and half-marathon was in 2013 on the Slovenska ulica near the Revolucije Trg (Square of the Revolution) and the inlet line in front of the university on the Trg Revolucije. Previously, the start and the targets on the Šubičeva ulica before the Slovenian Parliament. First, it goes westward to the district Vič, then northward over Rožnik in the district Šiška and eastwards to the district Bežigrad. Finally, it goes beyond the Dunajska cesta and the Slovenska cesta back to the starting point. The course will be completed twice by the half marathon runner once and the marathoners.
