ŁKS Łódź

The Łódzki KS ( officially Łódzki Klub Sportowy Sportowa Spółka Akcyjna ) is a Polish sports club, which is located in the central Polish city of Lodz.

It was founded in 1908 under the name Lodzianka Łódź. The Łódzki KS has now attracted twice the Polish Football Championship and once the Polish Cup competition. The traditional team colors are red and white. Since the 2000 /01 season Łódzki KS played in the 2nd Polish League. In the season 2005/ 06 is qualified with the 2nd place but again for the Ekstraklasa. At the end of the 2008/09 season the club was relegated by a license withdrawal again. After two years in the second division ŁKS was in the 2010/11 season in first place and got back in the Ekstraklasa on, but a year later by return again. Because of debt at some former players of the club was punished in March 2013 by the Polish Football Association with a Lizenzsuspendierung and excluded from the current game mode. After game has already been evaluated with 0:3, gave the club early April 2013 announced to withdraw with immediate effect from the 1st League since the club was unable to pay the outstanding debt.

The club plays its home games at ŁKS Stadium, this has a capacity of 12,160 seats.
