Lloyd Scott (musician)

Lloyd Scott ( born August 21, 1902 in Springfield ( Ohio), † unknown) was an American jazz drummer and bandleader.

Lloyd Scott initiated in the 1920s with his brother Cecil Scott a common ensemble, which appeared first in Ohio, then played in Pittsburgh, and finally in Harlem. Later it appeared as Cecil Scott and His Bright Boys as well as Lloyd Scott's Symphonic Syncopators; to his musicians included Dicky Wells, Frankie Newton, Bill Coleman, Roy Eldridge, Johnny Hodges, Fletcher Allen and Chu Berry. Under the name of Lloyd Scott and His Orchestra emerged in 1927 first recordings in New York; The five pieces ( at three compositions was Scott involved) were arranged by pianist Don Frye and trumpeter Kenneth Roane and contain the first solos by Dicky Wells on board. He still had the end of 1929 when shooting with his brother Cecil. After 1929 Lloyd Scott ended his active career in music and became the band manager of the formation, which acted as Cecil Scott's Bright Boys.
