Lo Hartog van Banda

Lodewijk (Lo) Hartog van Banda (* November 4, 1916 in The Hague, † February 2, 2006 ) was a Dutch Comicszenarist and author.

Life

Lo Hartog van Banda started his career when he and Ben Abas the science fiction magazine Fantasy en Wetenschap issued for a short time. In 1952, he joined the Marten Toonder Studios, where he rose within a short time become one of the main authors. Until 1965, he designed the scenarios for series like Aram, Kappie, Koning Hollewijn, Panda and Tom Poes. First with Gerrit stack, Thé Tjong - Khing later he created the newspaper strip student Tijloos. From 1965 to 1967, he then worked for two years as a copywriter in Ireland.

After his return to the Netherlands he began a collaboration with the magazine Pep. Here he worked with Dick Matena to the Argonauts, with Gideon Brugman to Ambrose, with Johnn Bakker Blook and Jan Steeman at Arad and Maya. In 1968 he again worked together for the comic Iris and the newspaper strip Arman de Thé Tjong Khing with Ilva.

In 1970 he returned to the comic book industry back and worked as a writer for the children's program on Dutch television ( Tita Tovenaar ). In the 1980s, he wrote the scripts for three Lucky Luke albums that are considered the best since the death of the previous authors Rene Goscinny. In 1983 appeared the first edition of finger Lucky Luke swapped his cigarette against a blade of grass on which he was chewing, and thus became the Non smoking. Last van Banda was working on a musical editing for television children's show written by him Tita Tovenaar.
