Lo La Chapelle

Eloi Hubert " Lo" La Chapelle (* June 22, 1888; † July 23, 1966 ) was a Dutch football goalkeeper.

On 21 December 1907, the tall goalkeeper of the then reigning champions from HVV Den Haag played as goalkeeper of the Dutch national team in a friendly match against an amateur selection from England. La Chapelle represented in Darlington goalkeeper Reinier Beeuwkes. The game, teammates first competed in the La Chapelle's in Orange, was the eighth official international match of the Dutch. It was lost with 2:12, the Englishman Harold Stapley scored only five, Vivian Woodward and Arthur Bell each scored three goals; the twelfth hit steered James Raine at. To date, it is the heaviest defeat of Oranje and La Chapelle so the goalkeeper, who suffered most opposing goals in an international match of the Dutch. The following year, he still belonged to the Netherlands squad for the Olympic Games in London, where the team won the bronze medal. However, the game with the twelve goals conceded would remain his only use for his home country.
