Loblaw Companies Ltd.. is a Canadian retail company located in Brampton (Ontario), Canada. The company is listed on the stock index S & P / TSX 60. The company was founded in 1956. In 1947 the Canadian company George Weston Limited took over the majority of Loblaw Companies. In businesses around 139,000 people are employed in 609 branches. Furthermore, there are still 427 franchisees. (As of 31 December 2008).

In 2008, the former national supermarket chain stores Dominion went on through the detour A & P in Loblaw. The name is still used in Dominion Newfoundland on license from Metro Inc.. 2013 took over Loblaw Companies, the company Shoppers Drug Mart for the equivalent of 9.1 billion euros.
