Loboc, Bohol

The municipality of Loboc lies in the interior of the Philippine island of Bohol, 24 kilometers from the provincial capital of Tagbilaran. Loboc lies in a valley, which is crossed by the Loboc River. Loboc has 16,312 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ).

Worth seeing is the old church from the time the Spaniards with a separate steeple. Loboc is known for its children's choir.

The town is a stopover for tourists on their way to the Chocolate Hills. Raft trips on the Loboc River to the falls offered. In Loboc the San Pedro Apostol Church is, it is on the short list of the Philippines for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2006. However, it was largely destroyed by an earthquake on 15 October 2013.
