LOC record

With a LOC resource record, a name is assigned to a precise position information. About length, width and height values ​​, a locus is determined exactly. In order to enable spatially extended local definitions, a virtual sphere can be defined by specifying a radius around this point.

As the WGS84 coordinate system is used as the GPS.

LOC RRs can be used for example to trace the route an IP packet geographically. The specification is documented in RFC 1876.
