Locnville

Locnville is a product from South Africa Electro-/Hip-Hop-Duo from Cape Town, consisting of the 1990 New York born and raised in her father's homeland of South Africa twins Andrew and Brian Chaplin. Her grandfather was a cousin of the comedian and director Charlie Chaplin.

Life and career

1990-98: The Early Years

Andrew and Brian Chaplin was born on 14 May 1990 in New York. At the age of two years, she moved back to Cape Town, South Africa, where they lived with their parents until their divorce in 1997. After the twins had lived alternately with her mother and her father, she moved in 2001 with her mother to the United States in 2003 but returned to South Africa to live with her father. At the age of six, when Andrew and Brian got their first guitars, the two spotted her interest in music. They published at the age of eight years, her first single " Amnesia ".

2006-2009: "III"

From a young age were Andrew and Brian in some events in and around Cape Town, and it was not long until the two was discovered by a South African record producer, Gabi Le Roux. This introduced her to the also living in Cape Town musician Given Phike. Shortly thereafter, the Tro was "III" ( Three). On 27 August 2007, III released an album on a South African social networking application for mobile phones called " Mxit ". Sun in My Pocket (2010)

After three months of production Deon Phyfer the debut album " Sun in My Pocket " was originally released in 2009 on a download platform for music under the name "Retro Electro". As a CD, the album was released in February 2010 in South Africa, after it was again produced in England by Wez Clarke ( Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi ). Locnville were found in January 2010 as the "buzz act" at the Midem International Music Conference in Cannes; this led to interest from various international record labels. 2010 Locnville received a contract with Sony Music International. In September 2010, the duo toured Europe. The single " Sun in My Pocket " is also included in EA Sports FIFA 11.

Running to Midnight (2011)

July 1, 2011 Locnvilles was released second studio album called "Running To Midnight ". The album was written and recorded, partly in Cape Town, some in the U.S. and also during the Sun In My Pocket tour in Europe within nine months. In an interview, one of the twins, Andrew, that the new album " much more appropriate to the situation in which we find ourselves now " is. The other twin, Brian, adding that the album " is not the present album ", ie bring a new sound with it.

Awards

Their first single "Sun in My Pocket " was awarded a gold record.
