Lodovico Rocca

Lodovico Rocca ( ​​born November 29, 1895 in Turin, † June 24, 1986 ibid ), also written Rocca, was an Italian composer.

As a student of Giacomo Orefice he wrote operas in the late verismo style that were rarely played. Well known are the works Morte di Frine, In Terra di Leggenda, Monte Ivnor and L' Uragano. Il Dibuk was his most successful opera; Renato Simoni wrote the libretto for this purpose. It was performed on March 24, 1934 at La Scala, directed by Franco Ghione. From 1940 to 1966 Lodovico Rocca was director of the National Conservatory of Music Giuseppe Verdi in Turin.
