Łódź Philharmonic

Filharmonia Łódzka in. Artura Rubinsteina ( Lodz Philharmonic Orchestra Artur Rubinstein ) is a philharmonic in the Polish city of Łódź, as the Lodz Symphony Orchestra (since 1945 - State Philharmonic, since 1984 - Artur Rubinstein Philharmonic, since 1999 - Lodz Philharmonic ) in 1915 was established.

The Ignacy Vogl concert house in Ulica Dzielna 18 (now Ulica Narutowicza 20) was built in the years 1883-1887 under the project of architect Otto Gehlig. The long-time seat of the Lodz Philharmonic was demolished in 2000, and built a new building at the same site and opened in 2004.

Nowadays, the Philharmonic strives for the status of a National Philharmonic Orchestra, which could result in higher benefits and the possibility of frequent concerts, and the resulting frequent visits of the invited eminent artists in the world. In summer, the Philharmonic hosted the Summer Festival " Kolory Polski " ( Polish colors ), the music as well as city and regional tour combines in itself. The festival first took place in 1999.
