Logan County (Colorado)

The Logan County is a county located in the state of Colorado of the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Sterling.

Geography

The County is located in northeastern Colorado. It borders the U.S. state of Nebraska ( there Cheyenne County). Through him passes Interstate 76 from Denver to Lincoln, Nebraska. Also here the Platte River flows in the same direction.

History

The County was formed in 1887 from parts of Weld County. It was named after John A. Logan, a general in the American Civil War and later a senator.
