Logelheim

Logelheim is a commune of 830 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haut-Rhin in the Alsace region. It belongs to the canton of Neuf- Brisach and the Local Government Association, Pays de Brisach.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Logelheim Oberrheinebene the river Ill, about seven kilometers south-east of Colmar.

Neighboring communities of Logelheim are Sundhoffen in the north, Appenwihr in the east, in the southeast Hettenschlag and Sainte -Croix -en- Plaine in the south and west.

History

To 770 the place was called Lageln. It is also known that Logelheim 1025 was subject to the Counts of Habsburg and 1224 the abbey Ebersmunster. In 1444 the village was destroyed by the Armagnacs.

Regular events

On the last weekend of October is the Fête du potiron, performed the "Melon Pumpkin Festival ". The Celtic festival is held in July on the last weekend of the month.
