Lohbach (Elbbach)

The Lohbach is about 2.7 kilometers ( with Horbach 4.4 km ) long right tributary to the east Elbbaches in the Westerwald.

Origin

Lohbach occurs at an altitude of 176 m above sea level. NN from the confluence of Horbach and Hundsangener creek east of Hundsangen in the Westerwald. Some call the entire river, including the Horbaches than Lohbach.

Headwaters

The Horbach rises in Rhineland-Palatinate Westerwald northeast of Hundsangen at the foot of the south slope of napping head directly on the border with Hesse. Its source is in a mixed forest at an altitude of 240 m above sea level. NN ( Koordinaten50.46827.992866 ). It flows to the southeast at the border line between the two states along and finally united to Rhineland-Palatinate floor with the coming of the West Hundsangener Bach to Lohbach.

Hundsangener Bach

The Hundsangener Bach is the right source of Bach Lohbaches.

Course

After the union of its two headwaters of Lohbach crosses the border into Hesse and is equal to fed it to his left side from coming from the north Frohnbach. He now moves to the southwest, passes south of the Gertsberg the Pletsch mill and then flows through meadows and fallow land. On its shore alternates tree growth, which is partly in gallery, part spreads like a forest, is with herb meadows and tall herb and the substrate its sole there from natural stones and gravel.
