Lohbarbek is a municipality in the district of Steinburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Geography and transport

Lohbarbek located south of Hohenlockstedt, wherein a part of the community goes directly into Hohenlockstedt. Federal highway 206 runs through the area of ​​the municipality.

History

1525 the municipality, as Loobarbeke, first mentioned in a document. It refers to a " stream that through a swampy lowland or a grove " flows where " boars or bears ". Count Rantzau to width castle bought by the city in 1600 by the Danish king. By 1870, the village belonged to Gutsherrschaft width castle.
