Loipersdorf bei Furstenfeld is a municipality with 1406 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the province of Styria. The municipality is part of the Judicial District Fürstenfeld in Hartberg - Fürstenfeld. Loipersdorf is located on the border of Burgenland and is known for its thermal baths and spa.

Geography

The municipality is located in southeastern Loipersdorf Styria and has existed since the municipality amalgamation in 1968 of three cadastral (area 2001): Dieter village ( 585.45 ha), Gillersdorf ( 280.52 ha) and Loipersdorf ( 906.35 ha).

The municipality comprises the cadastral Dieter village, Gillersdorf and Loipersdorf.

Thermal source

When drilling a thermal spring was discovered. From these bubbles sodium chloride - bicarbonate hot spring at 63 ° C. Since 1982, this brine is used for Loipersdorf. Subsequently emerged Thermenhotels, a golf course and a world of experience. This led to an expansion of accommodation and catering establishments. Today, with 36,000 m² the spa is one of the largest in Europe.
