Lois Delander

Lois Eleanor Delaner ( born February 14, 1911 in Joliet, Illinois, † 1985 in a Chicago suburb ) was in 1927, the seventh Miss America.

Lois Delaner was born on Valentine's Day in Joliet, went to the Junior High School and attended the Chicago School of Industrial Art, studied piano and classical ballet. Also, they had won a musical competition and on Bible verses. Enter the title of Miss America, she won on the 20th anniversary of their parents. Since she had no interest in a film or stage career after winning the title, she came back home very soon back and studied further.

After college, she married stockbroker Ralph Long, with whom she had three daughters. Lois was grandmother of seven grandchildren and lived until her death in 1985 at the age of 74 years in a suburb of Chicago.
