Loix

Loix -en- Ré is a commune with 693 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011), on the Ile de Ré and is known for its salt marshes, which are created left and right of the main road. The Ecomuseum Marais Salants has its headquarters in the middle of the salt marshes and informed about the history of salt mining on the island.

In the port of Loix there is an old tide mill was ground (TT) in the using of the tides flour. The mill itself is inaccessible to the public. There is a trail around the reservoir behind the weir.
