Lojze Spazzapan

Luigi Spazzapan ( born April 18, 1889 in Gradisca d' Isonzo (Friuli ), Italy, † February 18, 1958 in Turin, Italy) was an Italian painter and sculptor. He is one of the most important representatives of Abstract Art after the Second World War.

Life

Originally Spazzapan belonged to the artistic movement of the Futurists. He developed his art towards abstract painting. Spazzapan worked as a painter and sculptor. Since 1928 he lived and worked in Turin, where he died in 1958. A year later, three of his works have been exhibited posthumously at the documenta II in Kassel.
